DSIG was formed to serve its members by promoting a holistic, applied oriented understanding of Diversity and its relevance within the project management profession by becoming a dynamic organization dedicated to serving the business, government, and educational communities through the advancement of Project Management Professionals.

Interpretation of \"Diversity\"
Diversity is a very important topic in todays world. From the individual-level to the organizational-level, an understanding and appreciation of diversity is critical to creating positive environments that encourage and foster mutual respect, understanding, acceptance, participation, contribution, support, and success.
As the world grows increasingly interconnected, both the micro- and the macro-perspectives of individuals and groups must shift to encompass the associated diversification in backgrounds, experiences, views, interpretations, and cultural norms. To be successful and effective in this new and challenging world, individuals and groups must learn to understand, acknowledge, and encompass diversity in all of its many forms and manifestations.
